Renowned for its stunning architecture and the world’s largest fair, Oktoberfest, Munich needs little introduction. Its vibrant cultural scene, great shopping and fantastic museums speak for themselves.
Munich has something for everyone: from historic palaces and castles, to stunning royal avenues to world class galleries and museums. Don't miss the new city hall in the heart of Marienplatz or the former residence of the Bavarian kings, the Residenz. Munich is also home to the world’s most famous beer hall, the Hofbräuhaus.
For great shopping, Karlsplatz is another commercial wonderland square that takes up much of the city centre and the upscale area around Maximilianstrasse. Munich is famous for its food too, so make sure you try the local Weißwurst, Leberkässemmeln and other popular pork dishes.
Thanks to efficient S-Bahn train, getting to the city centre from Germany’s second busiest airport, Munich International Airport is quick and easy. Whether you’re looking for luxury hotels, youth hostels or comfortable apartments, Booking.com has the perfect accommodation for your Munich visit.
It was quite crowded in early May. We did a walking tour with Radius. Our guide Patrick was excellent but he had a larger group than we’d been promised, and it was hard to hear at times. We loved visiting the Market and having lunch in the biergarten there. We also enjoyed the the 1€ entry to the art museums on Sunday.

Very clean city, full of parks and gardens.
Very clean city, full of parks and gardens. Many young and active people. A lot of things to go and see. All around you can go on a bicycle. The public transport is organized perfectly. The only minus is the food - it's awful - only meet and potatoes!

Munich is beautiful.
Munich is beautiful. There is so much to explore - I wish we had stayed longer. The Marienplatz is spectacular as too are the churches. The markets are magnificent - I’ve never seen so many beautifully displayed food stalls.

Great city with great architecture, nice restaurants, and of course lots of activities.
I personally love visiting the Viktualienmarkt, then having a coffee and a Rohrnudel at Cafe Frischhut, which is conveniently located right next to it. You can spend a lot of time people watching, and to see real Múnchner is fun.
Loved climbing up the tower of St Peter’s
Church and we were lucky to have great weather so we could see the Alps.
A visit to Dalmayers, Manufactum and the famous Elli Seidl chocolaterie was a must. Best chocolate in town - for me at least
A walk along the river Isar is also nice - you can sit right at the river and take a breather from traffic and people, quite chilled there
The rooms were a very good size, super-clean. Great range of breakfast choices. Staff very helpful with our needs - the owner serves on the reception desk himself and is clearly very involved in the running of the hotel. Having stayed in Munich three times before, twice in the sightly over-restored city centre, I chose this alternative location for the green leafy feeling, and enjoyed the easy access to the Englisher Garten and the restaurants of Schwabing. City centre is still very easy accessible by public transport - or you can walk even.
The hotel location was right at the center of most attractions I wanted to see. Save yourself the fare of an uber or taxi and take the train from the airport. The subway station stop is literally across the street.
The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. Their suggestions for places to eat dinner was spot on. The hotel itself exudes an old world charm and the breakfast offered a good selection. When I return to Munich I will be sure to stay at the Hotel Torbräu!
This is a more modern boutique feel hotel in a nice neighborhood. I was traveling alone for work and only needed one night stay to fly out of Munich the next day. Room was a good size, bed was comfortable although it was two full beds put together. They was a coffee and tea station in the room and a complimentary water which was nice. Decent size room with a small balcony. They offered a continental breakfast for a fee with the reservation. Had decent selection and outside seating.
I love creative and carefree vibe of the Glockenbachviertel in Isarvorstad and I love this small boutique style hotel that just a perfect fit for the neighborhood. We had dog with us and it was absolutely hassle free. Rooms are beautiful, bar is the must. And yeah.. best ever pretzels for breakfast. Don’t miss it. Host/bartender is an awesome guy. Overall we had very pleasing experience and well spent night in Munich. Many thnks.
So pleased we chose this hotel. We have stayed in Munich many times. And this is by far the best hotel. The location is perfect. You are 5 minutes walk from Marienplatz and 30 minutes from the English garden. Lovely staff and delicious breakfast. The bar is very chilled. Excellent drink choice. Very reasonable prices. Suggest you upgrade to king room. Not too much more and worth it for the extra space.
Affordable price compared to similar hotels in Munich. It was pretty comfortable staying there and they made up the room daily. We appreciated the cleanliness. Its location is not quite in the city centre, but there is a tram stop 3-minute walking from the hotel and it goes straight to the city centre easily. There are a lot of services around the area, including two good cafés for breakfast.
Excellent understanding of what a city break tourist needs to spend few days in sufficient comfort. Clean, spacious room with en-suite bathroom. A perfect breakfast suiting everybody’s tastes. Round a clock access to good coffee or tea included. Soft drinks mini bar included. And a minute walk to the heart of the city centre. Once in Munich again, definitely would stay in this hotel.
Well equipped, functional and spacious rooms. Although the hotel was beside a few seedy stripper clubs, it actually felt relatively safe as there were many late night eateries and the area was lively at night! Very close by to the Munich HBF station and only an easy 15 mins walk from most city centre attractions! For the right price, we would stay there again.
The staff are friendly, cheap beer at the bar, and the €9 breakfast is a great way to start day. Located very close to the Pasing S-Bahn for convenient travel into the city centre. If your looking simply for a place to lay your head or you're on a budget then Hotel Imperial is a great alternative to a hostel.
The hotel isn't a luxury hotel nevertheless room are wide, confortable and clean, the managers of the facility are kind and helpful, the breakfast included in the room fee has a good variety of choices and a free parking it's available inside the hotel courtyard fact that in a city like Munich it's a plus.
Excellent stay at the hotel, would highly recommend the staff extremely helpful, nice walk into the city centre but the underground at the doorstep. will be going back shortly. i stay at this hotel every time i visit munich, absolutely wonderful!!!
Very nice hotel near Munich train station, very nice breakfast (wish I had had more time to enjoy it), room was quiet and comfortable despite being in the city centre. I had a very good night's sleep in advance of my early train the next morning.
The location of the hotel, nestled in the heart of Munich's vibrant city center, was the one shining light of my experience. This prime location offers easy access to the city's numerous attractions, shopping centers, and dining establishments.
The hotel is a little outside the city centre of Munich but perfectly located for our needs. The personnel was really welcoming and explained us everything about the COVID restrictions in Bavaria. The room was calm, with good beds.
Super central location, hotel located walking distance from the Munich Central station, also you can walk to the city centre in munutes. The room was clean with comfy beds and a good show facility. Recommended.
This hotel is perfectly located for walking tours of Munich. The bus to/from the airport is 100 yds away! Then you can walk 20 min and be wherever you want to be. Staff and rooms were great.
Good breakfast, front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Very good location for Munich city centre. Value hotel for location. Very short walk to tourist destinations and public transport.
The hotel was good , and 5 min to the Ostbahnhof ( München ost train station ) from there you can go directly to the airport and to the city centre but also walk there . It takes about 30 min.
Upscale, intimate traditional boutique hotel just outside the old town. Imminently walkable to all the main sites in old Munich. Exceptional staff in all respects. Quiet and excellent.
